Introduction In this work three different structural dynamic systems are under investigation. The third eamle is a thermal storage model at which between different accuracies of the discretization is switched. Second is the free endulum on a string, where the dimension of the state sace changes. The first is the constrained endulum as defined in ARGESIM comarison C7, where the dimension of the state sace is unaltered. The analogies and discreancies can be figured out on the basis of three classical eamles. This can be done either using a arallel model setu, a serial model setu, or a combined model setu. Different ossibilities of the couling of the state saces are comared. In this work we focus on AnyLogic and its ability to switch between different sets of equations using UML statecharts. This change of system behavior can be imlemented in different ways. Deending on the general conditions of the system the descrition of the model and thereby the state sace is altered.
